Who We’re Looking For:

We are seeking trauma-focused clinicians who exemplify compassion and teamwork.
Our ideal candidate is an experienced, passionate, and forward-thinking self-starter eager to develop their expertise in a collaborative group practice setting.

We are looking for client-centred Registered Counsellors, Registered Social Workers, or Registered Psychologists dedicated to trauma recovery, attachment repair, and the mind-body connection.

The candidate must bring specialized training and experience in various experiential trauma processing modalities such as EMDR, OEI, IFS, Somatic Therapy, Art Therapy, AEDP, or other comparable models.

This individual should strive for excellence in their practice and be deeply committed to community-oriented care. We value those who are self-starters, possess a genuine love of learning, and are eager to embrace new challenges.

Our team fosters an environment of fun and play, making it essential that candidates share our enthusiasm for creating a positive, engaging workplace. We are looking for someone interested in a long-term commitment, ready to invest in their career while contributing to the growth and development of our team.

A curious mindset and a desire to explore innovative approaches to trauma therapy will help ensure success in our collaborative environment. If you’re looking to join a supportive team that values both personal and professional growth, we would love to hear from you!

Qualified candidates for the position at Providence Therapy must meet the following requirements:

  • Formal Trauma-Focused Training: Candidates must be formally trained in a trauma-focused therapeutic modality, such as EMDR, OEI, IFS, AEDP, etc. This includes holding a valid professional license and completing recognized training programs that offer in-person or live interactive sessions (often over several days). Formal training should include theoretical education, case study exploration and supervised practice hours to ensure hands-on experience. Formal training further requires that practitioners demonstrate their competency by passing certain skills assessments or evaluations and maintaining adherence to modality-specific ethical guidelines. Engagement in ongoing education is essential, and formal training may require membership in relevant professional organizations. This qualification contrasts with informal training, where a clinician may have experience with a specific model of care but has been self-taught or developed their skillset through pre-recorded seminars that do not require the same standard of supervised practice and evaluation measures.
  • Educational Background: A minimum of a master’s degree in counselling psychology or a related field is required. This academic foundation is essential for providing high-quality therapeutic services to our clients.
  • Clinical Experience: Candidates must have at least two years of clinical (client-facing) experience post-master's degree graduation, specifically where training in trauma-focused care was provided. This experience is vital for ensuring that practitioners have the necessary expertise to support clients in their recovery journeys in our trauma-focused clinic.
  • Professional Registration: Candidates must be registered with an appropriate affiliated regulating body in British Columbia that is recognized by insurance providers. This registration is crucial for maintaining professional standards and ensuring that practitioners are eligible to provide reimbursable services. These qualifications ensure that our team consists of skilled professionals dedicated to the effective treatment of trauma and committed to nurturing the growth and healing of our clients.
