Relationship Counselling & Separation/Divorce Counselling

Overview

When you start a relationship, you need to understand the other person and accept their flaws, quirks, and beliefs. But if there are problems like past trauma, communication issues, or a lack of connection, it can cause trouble in your relationships with your partner or family. Many couples struggle with these problems and don't know how to fix them, which leads to a high rate of partnership breakdown and divorce. That's why we have counsellors who specialize in helping couples and relationships.

Our Approach

Couples Therapy And Conjoint Sessions Can Help

Our aim is to help you achieve your relationship goals, and improve your relationship bond. During couples therapy, we teach techniques and methods that enable you to resolve conflicts and plan for a happy future together.

Family therapy can help you work through relational issues that may arise during their healing process.

Sometimes a person's family can affect therapy progress. Having a conjoint session can help address communication issues and relationship breakdowns within the family, which can be beneficial for the person's individual therapy. It creates a safe space to express needs and allows families to gain a better understanding of each other's experiences.

Our therapists use techniques from various approaches like Emotion Focused Couples Therapy, PACT, and Gottman Couples Therapy to assist you in strengthening your relationship and connecting more intimately.

Gottman Couples Therapy

‘The goals of Gottman Method Couples Therapy are to disarm conflicting verbal communication; increase intimacy, respect, and affection; remove barriers that create a feeling of stagnancy; and create a heightened sense of empathy and understanding within the context of the relationship. This method integrates thorough assessment of the couple’s relationship and integrates research-based interventions based on the Sound Relationship House Theory’.

Emotionally Focused Therapy

Grounded with thirty years of process and outcome research, Dr Sue Johnson's Emotionally Focused Therapy, takes the attachment perspective out of the research lab and into therapy sessions with individuals, couples, and families. EFT couples therapy applies the principles of attachment theory and translates them into organic, on target interventions that create significant moments of change for couples in every session.

PACT Couples Therapy

PACT Couples Therapy is a method developed by Dr. Stan Tatkin. PACT uses a fusion of attachment theory, developmental neuroscience, and arousal regulation to effectively treat the most challenging issues faced by couples.
