Glasses, headphones, and a brain that starts remembering how to do things differently. Welcome to the future of nervous system care.
why you might bere here
You might be here because your nervous system feels stuck, perpetually wound up, flat, foggy, or somewhere between all three. Maybe you're managing anxiety that won't fully settle, sleep that doesn't come easily or doesn't feel restorative, a mood that dips with the seasons, or a concentration that scatters the moment you need it most. Maybe you've tried other approaches and found that something is still missing at the level of the brain itself, something that insight and conversation haven't quite been able to reach.
Or maybe you're simply curious about what becomes possible when you give your brain the right kind of input. The David Delight isn't a meditation app or a relaxation technique that requires effort and discipline to work. It is a clinically researched technology that works by guiding the brain into specific states through the use of precisely calibrated light and sound, giving the nervous system a direct and genuinely effective invitation to shift.
how therapy helps
Audio Visual Entrainment works through a principle called brainwave entrainment: the brain's natural tendency to synchronize its electrical activity with rhythmic external stimuli. Using the David Delight Pro, pulses of light delivered through specialized glasses and sound delivered through headphones work together at specific frequencies to gently guide the brain into targeted brainwave states, whether that is the relaxed alertness of alpha, the deep calm of theta, or the focused engagement of beta. The brain follows the cue, and over time with repeated sessions, it becomes better at accessing those states independently. The science behind this is well established, with close to 100 clinical studies published on AVE demonstrating its effectiveness for anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, seasonal affective disorder, insomnia, chronic pain, and cognitive performance. AVE increases cerebral blood flow and glucose metabolism in the brain, supports healthy neurotransmitter production including serotonin, norepinephrine, and endorphins, calms the limbic system, and normalizes brainwave activity in ways confirmed by quantitative EEG research.
At Providence, we primarily use the David Delight as an adjunct tool that clients use alongside their existing therapeutic work rather than as a standalone treatment. We have found it to be a particularly powerful complement to therapy, supporting nervous system regulation and brain-state flexibility that makes deeper therapeutic work more accessible. The process begins with an initial one-hour assessment session with your provider, which includes a clinical intake to understand your presentation and goals, a full walkthrough on how to use the system, and a trial run of a tailored protocol so you and your provider can observe how your system responds. Following that session, devices are sent home with clients on a weekly rental basis for up to six weeks, with a personalized set of protocols recommended by your provider based on your unique clinical picture. If it becomes clear at the six-week mark that ongoing use would be valuable, your provider can discuss the option of purchasing a device for personal use, which is a more cost-effective long-term solution. As a preferred vendor with Mind Alive, Providence is able to offer systems at a better rate than purchasing directly.

For Your Clarity
Your first session is a one-hour appointment with your provider and costs $100. It includes a clinical intake conversation to understand your presentation, goals, and any relevant history, a full walkthrough of the David Delight system so you feel confident using it independently, and a trial run of a protocol tailored to your needs so you and your provider can observe how your nervous system responds. From there, your provider will put together a personalized protocol plan and discuss the rental process with you.
At the six-week mark, or earlier, you and your provider will review your response to treatment and discuss what makes the most sense going forward. If ongoing use appears valuable, your provider can discuss the option of purchasing a device for personal use. As a preferred vendor with Mind Alive, Providence is able to offer systems at a better rate than purchasing directly, making personal ownership a genuinely cost-effective option for clients who benefit from longer-term use. Pricing varies depending on the system and any additional components you choose.
Most people find it deeply relaxing and surprisingly enjoyable. You sit comfortably, put on the specialized glasses and headphones, select the protocol recommended by your provider, and let the light and sound do the work. The glasses deliver gentle pulses of light through closed eyelids, and the headphones deliver synchronized tones that shift gradually over the course of the session. Many people notice a shift in their mental state within minutes, and some drop into a deeply relaxed or drowsy state. Sessions typically last between twenty and forty-five minutes depending on the protocol.
Yes. While we primarily position the David Delight as an adjunct to therapeutic work, the initial assessment and rental program are available to clients who are not currently engaged in counselling at Providence. That said, for those navigating complex mental health concerns, we may recommend pairing AVE use with therapeutic support to ensure the work is well held. We will discuss what makes the most sense for your situation during the initial assessment session.
Following your initial assessment session, a David Delight device is sent home with you on a weekly rental basis at $125 per week, for up to six weeks. Your provider will supply you with a tailored set of protocols to follow based on your clinical presentation and goals, and will check in with you on your progress and response as the weeks unfold. The at-home model is intentional. It allows you to use the device with the frequency and consistency that produces the best results, integrated naturally into your daily life rather than limited to clinic appointments.
AVE is considered safe and well tolerated for the vast majority of people. It is non-invasive and does not deliver any electrical current to the brain. The primary contraindication is a history of photosensitive epilepsy or seizure disorders triggered by flickering light, for whom light-based stimulation is not appropriate. We conduct a thorough intake during your initial assessment session to ensure AVE is appropriate for you, and we will always be transparent if we have any concerns about fit before proceeding.
