Who I Work Best With
I work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, ADHD, autism, grief, life transitions, and questions of identity and purpose. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves or the people they care about. I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel understood, supported, and empowered to explore difficult experiences while building practical skills for lasting change.
I have a particular passion for supporting men's mental health, neurodivergent individuals, and those recovering from trauma or navigating significant life changes. Whether you are seeking help as an individual or as part of a couple, I tailor therapy to your unique strengths, values, and goals using evidence-based approaches including EMDR, CBT, ACT, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. My goal is not only to reduce symptoms but also to help you develop deeper self-understanding, healthier relationships, and a greater sense of resilience and fulfillment.

Area of focus
What it’s like to Work with Me
Working with me as a psychologist means having someone who is **kind, supportive, and genuinely invested in your growth**. I want the people I work with to feel heard and understood, while also knowing that I will be active and present in the process. I value creating a warm, nonjudgmental environment where people can be honest about what they are experiencing. At the same time, my approach is directive. I am comfortable offering guidance, asking meaningful questions, and helping identify practical steps forward rather than simply listening without direction.
I also aim to be motivating and encouraging especially when change feels difficult or progress feels slow. I believe in recognizing people’s strengths while gently challenging them to move beyond patterns that may be holding them back. I want the people I work with to leave our conversations feeling supported but also with a clearer sense of direction and confidence in what they can do next. Overall, I hope to balance kindness with accountability, providing both the encouragement and guidance needed to help people make meaningful changes.

The human behind the therapist
Outside of the therapy room, I'm a husband of 18 years and a proud girl dad, and those roles have shaped the way I think about relationships, resilience, and what truly matters in life. I believe in practicing what I encourage my clients to do—making time for connection, prioritizing my physical and mental health, and embracing moments of joy and play. These experiences help me bring authenticity, empathy, and perspective into my work as a psychologist.
When I'm not working, you'll often find me creating educational mental health content on TikTok at @getthemindright, where I enjoy making psychology more approachable and accessible. I'm also an avid collector of Pokémon and One Piece cards, a hobby that reminds me of the importance of curiosity, community, and having interests that bring genuine enjoyment. I believe that healing isn't just about overcoming challenges—it's also about building a life that feels meaningful, balanced, and fun.

In addition to clinical practice, I teach in the Master's of Counselling program at City University Vancouver and am passionate about integrating evidence-based approaches with compassionate, client-centered care.
